moreMLB Scorekeeper Jillian Geib agrees to terms w/ Denver Browns as Official Scorekeeper
By Denver Browns Beat Writer Neal Cassady
JIllian "Jilly" Geib knows a thing or two about baseball, to be more precise, the big leagues. She's worked for Major League Baseball in a myriad of different positions, in fact she's actually held every position there is says Jilly... "Since 2012, I have worked every position that the Data Operations department staffs at the ballpark. I was part of the team that launched the Field Timing initiative in 2014 – we started off holding up large colored cards to signal to the umpires when to come back from inning breaks, and now have expanded to running stadium clocks between play events and innings in all major ballparks, as well as experiments with pitch clocks in Spring Training and minor league ballparks. When BOSS (Balls, Outs, Strikes System) was implemented the following season, I was asked to be a member of that team, and was recruited to join the Stringer team in 2018. Most recently, in the 2021 offseason when a spot opened up on the Official Scorer team for the Rockies, my name came up as a logical choice to step in thanks to my knowledge and experience!" Talk about hiring the right person to be the new Denver Browns Scorekeeeper! "Jillian was the obvious choice" say's Denver Browns AGM Collin Zanker. In 2014, Jillian also went back to school to get her Master’s Degree in Education at the University of Denver, and now she teaches 5th grade for Denver Public Schools. The Denver Browns are so excited to have Jillian as a part of our team in 2022. She's the only current female scorekeeper in Major League Baseball and only the 3rd or 4th to ever have that title in the history of Baseball. After her HS Softball career was over she attended Boston University to study journalism, with dreams of becoming a sports reporter. "I had several internships, one was for WBUR's show "Only a Game" with Bill Littlefield in 2011 and another with ROOT Sports Rocky Mountain in 2012." Through these experiences, she realized just how much she loved the little intricacies of the game of baseball and she also decided that she could be taken much more seriously for her knowledge through the statistical side as opposed to the broadcast end. "I met a good friend of mine during that time, Bryan Brown, who was working with MLB.com and he was able to connect me with a job right after graduation working for the Pitch F/X team and Sandy Zinn" (that project has now become known as "StatCast"). With all of Jillian's experience we know she will do a great job keeping official book for Denver Browns games all season long... Perhaps we could have her hold a clinic this season for those interested in learning more on the intricacies of Scorekeeping??? Stay tuned Browns Fans! #BaseballCard4Kids
moreOnisko Enshrined by NABA Hall of Fame
The most lovable guy in the league, our skip Mike Onisko got the call last week from the NABAs Shane Fujita and Joe Collins to let him know that he (Mike Onisko) is the most recent inductee and that he will receive the NABA's highest honor by being enshrined to their prestigious National Adult Baseball Association's National Hall of Fame for his meritorious contributions to the local and national levels for close to 30 years. His impeccable character and ability to continuously compete on the national level for over 20 years were behind their reasoning.
During the offseason of 2013 The Denver Browns signed the best manager in team history when Mike agreed to terms for the 2014 season. Since then The Denver Browns have been nothing short of dominant. Winning 5 City Championships in the past 7 seasons while playing in 6 of the past 7 Championship games. Mike has established himself as the best manager in the league and one of the best in the country. We couldn't be more proud for this recognition to our great Skip and simply can't thank him enough for being our leader on the field the past 8 years. Thank you and congratulations Mike!

moreJohn Elliott Memorial Game / Opening Day - ICYMI Browns 13 Dirtbags 0
by Denver Browns GM/Owner Matthew Repplinger
In a tribute to Denver Browns only non-player ever inducted into the Denver Browns Hall of Fame, John Elliott. The Denver Browns were able to pay their respects in their own fitting way to what John meant to The Denver Browns Baseball Club as well as the City of Denver by putting up a max effort vs a solid Dirtbag team with a 13-0 victory on Opening Day. Denver Browns Opening Day ace starter Houston Hibbered struck out a Denver Browns 7 inning record 17 strikeouts and was in line to break the Browns all time record of 20K's in a game (Sean Chase 2014) had the game not ended early due to the 10 run mercy rule.
Denver Browns Captain Trent Kutler was 2/5 w/5RBI's one upped by Browns veteran 3rd baseman Matthew Jerebker who went 3/5 w/ 5RBIs and a HomeRun
John truly was a force for the good of mankind here in Denver. Always outspoken in regards to his beliefs in healthcare system and the intricacies of local and state government, John never shied away from speaking his truth and standing up for the disadvantaged.
Mary Therese Anstey (John Elliot's significant other) threw out the first pitch for the many spectators there to remember and NEVER FORGET John Elliott. As fate would have it, she fired a strike to Denver Browns vet Matt Barker who happened to be wearing number ( you guessed it) #13... For sure a good omen as The Denver Browns go on to win in convincing fashion 13-0.
moreFeature Story : Real Estate Agent Christie Lysaught
By Matthew Repplinger
This March we at the Denver Browns celebrate Women's History Month... First, by featuring our own Kristen Genter of the South Park Whooping Cranes, the first ever female manager in the history of baseball.
And on the last day of Women's History Month we bring you the story of Denver Browns new sponsor Christie Lysaught of Kentwood Real Estate Cherry Creek.
Christie Lysaught (Nee Allen) first got her start in professional sports long before she became a successful real estate agent here in the beautiful City of Denver. A journey that took her from the humble beginnings working here locally for John Elway in the world of football and took her all the way to the hallowed grounds of Yankee Stadium.
What started as a love for baseball turned into a role in being of service as the public address announcer for her High School alma matter; Heritage High School located near historic downtown Littleton Colorado. Just so happened, and maybe no coincidence that that particular team went on to be one of the greatest High School baseball teams in the state's history breaking nearly every offensive record ever established while being ranked in the top 20 nationally by Baseball America for 2 straight years. A team featuring Denver Browns Hall of Famer Jordan Bruns, former big leaguer Luke French, and other pros such as Jake Opitz and Austin Krum. Christie has been around excellence on the baseball field ever since the beginning, a theme that has been consistent in her career in the sports world and beyond in Real Estate.
moreDenver Browns partner with Musical Life Denver
by Denver Browns Beat Writer Sidd Bench
The Denver Browns Baseball Club will be doing their best in 2021 to maintain their mission statement - To continuously break the mold of amateur and semi pro baseball in Denver by always striving to be the best in everything we do, from the field to the community. With that being said, we most definitely will be doing that in the upcoming year by bringing you live music to most of our games in 2021. Look for Musical Life Denver - School of Music to be providing music for the majority of Denver Browns games this upcoming season.
Today we catch up with the head of Musical Life Denver, the owner Robby Schechter.
Robby tell us about Musical Life Denver, it's mission and how it came to be?
RS: Musical Life Denver is a 100% locally owned and operated business with a focus on community, leadership, and most importantly, having fun with music! We offer private music lessons, band classes, and more in the Denver area. We are conveniently located on South Broadway in Englewood, CO.
Browns Beat: What was your inspiration and how long has Musical Life Denver been in existence?
RS: Well I began playing piano at the age of 4 and guitar at the age of 6 and I've always had a passion for sharing music with others. I was performing at talent shows at school and summer camps by the time I was 8 and began playing in bands shortly after that. My first ever performance with a band was when I was 13, at the historic Blueberry Hill in St. Louis, Mo.
moreDenver Browns to feature Team Chaplin Chip Simmons
by 2021 Denver Browns Beat Writer Johnny Finch
We are pleased to ad Chip Simmons to the Denver Browns Baseball Organization in 2021 as the ball clubs first ever Team Chaplin. We are fortunate to add someone with such credentials, as Chip has been the Team Chaplin for the Super Bowl in addition to working with the local Denver Broncos and Colorado University Football Program he has served for teams such as the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia 76'ers. Chip Simmons heads up After The Game Ministries http://afterthegameministries.org and has been a friend of the Browns GM since their days working together for John Elway within the Colorado Crush Organization. Being Chip has most always worked in professional football, you wouldn't know his favorite sport since childhood has always been baseball growing up a die hard Phillies fan. His favorite player? That would be none other than Lonnie Smith, who famously played in 5 different World Series (winning 3 of them with PHL, StL & KC). Prior to his work sharing the Gospel, Chip served as manager to one of the greatest Jazz musicians to ever strum a stand up bass guitar, his first cousin Christian McBride. Look for Chip as well as live music at many of our games this upcoming season! Thank you Chip and thank you Denver Browns Fans as we look to another exciting championship baseball season in 2021. Exciting News! Opening Day is April 11th at 9am - Place TBD but look for East HS or North HS to return as a Denver Browns venue in 2021!

by 2021 Denver Browns Beat Writer - Sidd Bench
Did You Know??? Colorado Rockies GM Jeff Bridich played one season with Denver Browns Hall of Fame Manager Mike Onisko? The 2004 Colorado Reds also featuring Denver Browns Hall of Fame 3rd Baseman Matthew Jerebker had one recent former Harvard catcher named Jeff Bridich. Interesting tidbit Jeff wasn’t the starting catcher as he joined a team that featured another former Harvard catcher that beat him out in college and then again in the semi pro NABA... a huge coincidence unfolded when Jeff looked down the bench and once again saw his old teammate Scott Hopps putting on the gear, true story.
